T9

I was typing on my phone on the bus home from school (because I was bored and had nothing else to do) and came  across a setting in my messages called T9. Some of you may have heard of it, but for those who haven’t (like me up until a few hours ago) this brief post to the wonders of T9.

Basically T9 tries to form words from letters you type. For example, if you wanted to write the word cat you would press 2 (only once) 2 again (once) and 8 (only once). T9 should string together these letters to make possible words. If it doesn’t come up with the word you wanted you can press a button(I t’s different for all phones but is usually the enter key or similar unless you have a touch phone) and you can go through all the possibilities.  You can also add to the dictionary because T9 doesn’t always recognise slang or abbreviations (such as LOL etc.)

I would definitely recommend using T9 because it makes texting a lot quicker and easier!

*NOTE: Those with full qwerty keyboards (phones with touch screen and qwerty keyboards excluded) probably don’t have T9.

SORRY!!! :(

The Three Click Game

This week I tried the Three Click Game. The three click game is a game where you click on someone from your blogroll( I clicked on Daredevil26′s Fantastic Blog) and then I had to click on someone from daredevil26‘s blogroll which was Eagle kid 13‘s blog and then I had to click on someone else’s blog from Eagle Kid 13′s blogroll which was Ziksana’s blog and yes I know you must be getting bored of this by now, I clicked on someone from Ziksana’s blogroll called Open Thinking.

I found some amazing blogs during the game but my favourites were  Daredevil26′s blog and Eagle Kid 13′s blog.

You should really visit some of these blogs because they are very interesting, attractive and have great widgets!

Using Images

Using images in your posts is a great way to brighten up your post! As the saying goes a picture is worth a thousand words! Even though using pictures is fun you have to always use creative commons in your posts and give attribution to the person who took the photo. There are many types of pictures, there are cartoons, photographs, optical illusions and more!

Challenge 3- Edublogs student blogging challenge

I live in Port Stephens – A beautiful coastal town with beaches, walking and bike riding tracks, camping and holiday facilities and parks. My favourite thing about Port Stephens are the beaches. I love swimming in the crystal clear water on a hot summers day. You could swim in one of our calm bays or if you want some waves you could  go to one of our surf beaches – both are equally as fun. Another one of my favourite things to do is go bike riding on one of our numerous bike tracks. you could go for a ride on the water front or go through a park filled with leafy, shady trees. All in all I love going on holidays but there’s no place like home

When is it apropriate to put real pictures of yourself and others on your blog?

This is a real cyber safety issue. When you put pictures of yourself  on your blog the whole world can see it. You then have the risk of cyber stalkers and cyber bullies. It is a bit like when you write a post or comment you never include your last name, where you live or other personal information. If you are going to put real pictures on your blog you must never write the names of people who are in the photo, that just makes stalkers jobs a whole lot easier!

Even though it would be fantastic if the internet was a safe place to be – it isn’t. Until some superhero comes and destroys the villians saving us all from these dangerous times, we all have to take extra safety precautions on the internet.

Why You Should Visit My Blog

Post number 4 for the edublogs student challenge.

My blog is an AWESOME blog (well at least I think so!) You can find out all about me, my class and school life as well as my learning experience as a blogger( this is my first year of blogging.) I love reading, swimming, camping, playing my DSiXL and Wii and just chilling with my friends. On the more techinical side of things I love discovering new widgets, new Alt codes and of course blogging! I aim to tell a little bit about me in each of my posts and I think that is what makes my blog an interesting blog. I also enjoy recieving comments, giving me feedback about what I have done well and what I need to do a little bit of improving on! As you can see my blog is the place to be•

Soldiers Point Public School Fete

For the first time in 10 years, Soldiers Point Public School had a fete which was held on Saturday 11th September.

There were some great stalls like the craft stall, second hand stall, face painting/ hairspray stall, plaster cast stall, plaster letters stall, mystery bottle stall, plant stall, cake stall, book stall and tombola stall as well as some great games like the Knock ‘em Down game – where you knock down funny pictures of teachers with a ball, mini putt putt, balloon darts and a game where you throw balls into cups.

There were also some great rides like the bungee trampolines, rock climbing, dragster, jumping castle and chairs ride.  Through out the day you could purchase food, drinks and snacks from the canteen as well as lollies, slushies and fairy floss from the lolly stall!

The fete was a great success and it was heaps of fun but we all need to say a big thank you to a lot of people who gave up their time and effort to make this happen.

ABC3

Everyone has seen the ABC3 channel on TV. But have you ever wondered what happens on the web?

http://www.abc.net.au/abc3/ is the official website for ABC3. You can play games, watch TV, chat and make your own avatar when you sign up to the ABC3.

One of the hi-lights of the ABC3 website are the games. My two favourite games are

Greymond- the colours have been stolen from Greymond’s land -help him find the colours.

Icycle- The world is in an ice age and everyone is frozen in time  except for one man who’s only possession is a bicycle

I am also part of club3 a club for the members of abc3 my user name is MnM98.

I would definitely recommend abc3 for  all kids.
